Jeffers was a lifelong community activist and a labor leader who is best known for her role in founding the United Domestic Workers of America, the third union in U.S. history founded by people of color.

The scope for this new K-6 school located on a 8.3 acre site in the Otay Ranch Village community included all phases from visioning and schematic design through closeout. The 68,023 square foot construction hosts 350 students in state-of-the-art classroom buildings, a library resource center, and multipurpose room. It features fresh light colors, natural materials and bright, thoughtful solutions to provide dynamic and safe learning spaces for students.
