Saddleback High School, The Paseo
During the Kitchen Master Plan process in 2017 a need to modernize Saddleback High School’s food service facility was identified. The district’s goal was to provide with a student friendly food service facility with adequate kitchen space to prepare and serve healthy meals to students while creating spaces for socialization. The project included the modernization of the existing kitchen into a new student gathering area where they can eat, socialize, collaborate, and hold social gatherings.
The existing facility was extremely crowded, unfriendly, and led to various social issues at the campus and students avoided eating altogether. The new food service building was designed to improve and provide more variety of healthy food choices for students while also being a connector of existing facilities on campus.
The existing food facility was extremely crowded, unfriendly, and led to various social issues at the campus and students avoided eating altogether. Our goal with this modernization was to create a student friendly food service facility that would not only provide healthy meals in an efficient manner, but also create a space for students to congregate and socialize.
