Celebrating the Páxam Páxam Welcoming Resource Center, San Bernardino, CA
We were honored to join San Bernardino City Unified School District, families, and community partners yesterday to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new Páxam Páxam Welcoming Resource Center.
A true community vision come to life, the center creates a welcoming hub where families can access enrollment, wellness, and support services all in one place.
Thank you to SBCUSD and everyone who helped make this important resource a reality — a space designed to uplift and connect the whole San Bernardino community.
Ruhnau Clarke Architects was honored to join Beaumont Unified School District in celebrating the ribbon cutting of the Glen View High School expansion. This $8 million project introduced four new classrooms (approx. 5,000 sf), upgraded restroom facilities, ADA access pathways, a shaded courtyard, perimeter fencing, landscaping, electrical improvements, and state-of-the-art furniture and digital displays.
The expansion allows the school to relocate its Career Technical Education (CTE) medical pathway program into a larger, more functional space, supporting Glen View High’s mission to provide hands-on, relevant educational opportunities.
Ruhnau Clarke Architects is proud to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Eisenhower High School’s new Learning Complex with Rialto Unified School District. This transformative project provides students with state-of-the-art classrooms, flexible learning environments, and collaborative spaces that support 21st-century education.

Ruhnau Clarke Architects joined Barstow Fine Arts Academy in celebrating the official opening of their Community Walking Track with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The event, announced by Barstow Unified School District on June 27, 2025, marked the completion of this important community wellness initiative.
The new walking track provides a dedicated outdoor fitness resource for students, staff, and community members at Barstow Fine Arts Academy. This project exemplifies the district’s commitment to promoting health and wellness while creating accessible recreational infrastructure that serves both educational and community needs.
Ruhnau Clarke Architects designed the track to integrate seamlessly with the existing campus while maximizing functionality for physical education programs, after-school activities, and community use. The facility enhances opportunities for structured fitness programs and informal recreation, supporting the school’s mission to foster student success through comprehensive wellness initiatives.
This project reflects Ruhnau Clarke’s ongoing partnership with Barstow USD and our dedication to designing facilities that strengthen community connections and promote active, healthy lifestyles for all ages.
Ruhnau Clarke Architects is proud to have designed the new $20 million, 17,140 square-foot James Ramos Center for Public Safety for the San Bernardino City Unified School District, which broke ground on April 7, 2025. The ceremony brought together District Police and representatives from state, regional, and city law enforcement agencies.
This essential facility will house SBCUSD’s Police Department and Cadet Training Program, including a clerestory lobby, gymnasium, dispatch area, briefing and interview rooms, offices, and secured support spaces. Strategically located beside the City of San Bernardino Police Department at E Street and 7th Street, the building will foster collaboration between District and city law enforcement.
Named in honor of California State Assemblymember James C. Ramos, the project advances SBCUSD’s Vision 2030: SBCUSD SHINES strategic plan—prioritizing safety, partnership, and career pathway opportunities for students pursuing public service. Built by C.W. Driver, the facility is scheduled for completion in 2026.

This modernization project was primarily initiated to address various site, safety, and circulation challenges. At the same time, we wanted to encourage student exploration and engagement in the natural world. We were inspired by the biodiversity of native flora and fauna, organizing learning villages around local ecosystems. Play structures reflect natural forms, and landscape design mimics outdoor spaces. Inside, the nature motif is translated into organic shapes, daylighting, natural materials, and textures.
